Commencing in February 2014 and extending 12 months the Mimecast Graduate Program aims to provide young and talented graduates with an opportunity to receive the best start in their careers in one of the most progressive Cloud technology companies in the country.

We are looking for an ambitious, go-getter, who wants to hit the ground running and learn the ins and outs of their prospective future careers by giving them a hand’s on approach. With 10% of our work force being part of our Graduate Program, this is a great opportunity to develop yourself with scarce skills in the world of Technology!

During the course of the 12 month program you will focus initially on core skills training to develop the personal and professional skills needed to establish yourself within the Mimecast community. Thereafter, you will progress into our Sales division, where you will have a dedicated mentor, ready to groom and guide you in your first working experience.

Should graduates complete the program and not be successful in securing employment in your chosen specialization within Mimecast we will be able to refer you to a number of our reseller partners and alliances provided you have scored well in your assessments throughout the program.

As a Sales Business Administrator Graduate, you will have the opportunity to fast track your career by spending 12 months with some of South Africa’s most highly skilled and reputable sales professionals. Essentially, you will learn from the best. Mimecast is the market leader in RSA for Software as a Service (SAAS) and you will have the opportunity to understand how and why this business has achieved phenomenal success. You will be mandated to supporting the high performance sales teams with reliable and accurate revenue trends, customer and partner opportunity data, market segment and vertical performance data as well as contribute your ideas for innovative and leading corporate branding campaigns and events. This role will report to the Business Development Director and National Sales Manager out of Johannesburg and needs an ambitious, exuberant, high energy, enthusiastic individual with a passion for IT Sales, superb attention to detail and flair for numbers.

As a Sales Administration graduate, you will be part of the Mimecast Sales Enablement Training Program where you will be required to qualify as a Mimecast Certified Sales Specialists. An internal skills development program will also be available to you so that you can quantifiably ensure that you are constantly progressing your knowledge and expertise.

Skills you will acquire:
- Forecasts and budget planning
- Ability to identify trends and challenges through quality data
- Understanding a sales cycle and how to walk through an opportunity from first contact through to being a customer
- Insight into the cloud market and the key levers and drivers a successful cloud business uses to measure itself
- Manage and meet deadlines
- Engage with sales leaders and understand their priorities
- Ability to prioritise tasks in the correct order and handle situations under pressure

The successful graduates must have completed the following in the last 2 years:
- Diploma/ degree in: Marketing; Sales or Business Administration

Definitions:

Internship:

There are basically two types of internships:

  • The Undergraduate Internship: Usually with bigger organisations that pick undergraduates to attend the internship. It often takes places during the holidays and the average durations is a few weeks. In most cases the intern will receive some sort of stipend or salary and this type of internship may lead to a job offer to the intern once he / she is finished with their studies.
  • The Graduate Internship: This type of internship could be paid or unpaid and it is to gain practical work experience after the qualification has been completed and in a job related to the qualification. It could be from a few weeks or even one or two years long. This type of internship could also lead to permanent employment.

Learnerships:

A learnership is an occupational qualification and it consists of theory and work-based experience and practical skills, with formal assessment and a qualification. At the end of the learnership the candidate may be offered permanent employment.

In-service training:

In-service training is to gain practical work experience during studies. It usually takes place after a few years of theory has been successfully completed. It is essential work experience that is part of the qualification and the in-service training is necessary to achieve the qualification. It could be paid or unpaid.
