Europ Assistance has a 1 year call screener learnership opportunity.

Key responsibilities:
- To answer emergency calls and assist MTN 112 callers to ensure they reach the most appropriate solution to their call, with the least delay.
- To transfer calls to external service providers in the event of a hub facility

Competencies required:
- Matric
- Call centre training or Qualification is an advantage
- Computer literate
- Must be prepared to work shifts including night shift and public holidays
- Good knowledge of the geography of South Africa
- Proficient in English and at least one other indigenous South African language
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and rapidly
- Ability to calm the caller, and to show patience and empathy
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Dedication and a high service ethic
- Own / reliable transport essential

Definitions:

Internship:

There are basically two types of internships:

  • The Undergraduate Internship: Usually with bigger organisations that pick undergraduates to attend the internship. It often takes places during the holidays and the average durations is a few weeks. In-service training is to gain practical work experience during studies. It usually takes place after a few years of theory has been successfully completed. It is essential work experience that is part of the qualification and the in-service training is necessary to achieve the qualification. It could be paid or unpaid.
