This is a dynamic programme that will expose graduates to all aspects of merchandise and supply chain, through a variety of training modules. Successful applicants will be assessed for an opportunity to participate in our Merchandise Trainee Programme.
Graduates will be required to foster productive relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of the category operating plan, to be committed and successfully complete projects within the recommended timeframes provided and to assist with projects related to the merchandising function.
The aim of the programme is to provide graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills that will contribute to the successful operation of the Clicks Merchandising department.
- To complete the Merchandise Trainee Programme by acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge in order to add value to and contribute to the successful operation of the Clicks Merchandise department.
- To successfully complete all training modules, demonstrating the required proficiency within the agreed timeframes set out in the trainee programme
- To foster productive relationships with key stakeholders through positive engagement and sound communication in order to support the delivery of the category operating plan.
- To drive personal development and proficiency by completing projects and conducting presentations in order to gain exposure to all aspects of merchandise and supply chain.
- To perform any ad hoc duties related to the merchandising function and assist department specialists on projects or assignments where necessary.
Qualification: Essential: B.Bus.Sc or B.Com degree with Economics, Finance or Marketing as a major

- Desirable: Retail work experience

Internship:

Learnerships:
A learnership is an occupational qualification and it consists of theory and work-based experience and practical skills, with formal assessment and a qualification. At the end of the learnership the candidate may be offered permanent employment.
In-service training:
In-service training is to gain practical work experience during studies. It usually takes place after a few years of theory has been successfully completed. It is essential work experience that is part of the qualification and the in-service training is necessary to achieve the qualification. It could be paid or unpaid.
Internship:

- The Undergraduate Internship: Usually with bigger organisations that pick undergraduates to attend the internship. It often takes places during the holidays and the average durations is a few weeks. In most cases the intern will receive some sort of stipend or salary and this type of internship may lead to a job offer to the intern once he / she is finished with their studies.
- The Graduate Internship: This type of internship could be paid or unpaid and it is to gain practical work experience after the qualification has been completed and in a job related to the qualification. It could be from a few weeks or even one or two years long. This type of internship could also lead to permanent employment.
